School District of Philadelphia Schools Capital Improvement Plan:
McKissack provided program management services for the $1.5 Billion Capital Improvement Plan for the School District of Philadelphia. The scope of work included repairing existing buildings and replacement of old high schools with sophisticated facilities that accommodate the District’s new, state-of-the-art curriculums and exemplary programs. It also reduced the number of middle schools, expand school choice, alleviate overcrowding and create safe learning environments for the District’s 200,000 students.
Projects included five new high schools, phasing out middle schools, expanding elementary schools to accommodate between 700-900 students in a K-8 grade structure, constructing five new elementary schools and building numerous additions.
