Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine:
McKissack, in a joint venture, provided construction management services for The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine (HUP CAM), a 500,000 SF facility and the largest capital project undertaken in the history of the University of Pennsylvania Health System. HUP CAM was designed to create an ideal environment for patient-focused care and collaboration among health professionals. The Perelman Center houses the health system’s Abramson Cancer Center, radiation oncology, cardiovascular medicine and an outpatient surgical pavilion. In addition to providing patient-focused care, the Perelman Center is designed to anticipate and respond to future trends in medicine. The Perelman Center’s operating rooms for outpatient surgery measure 600 square feet each – 30 percent larger than the dimensions required by code – providing maximum flexibility to accommodate ever-changing technologies.
The CM team guided and acted as the liaison between the architects and planners and those who brought the project to life. They assured that each component was a work of quality and value and completed safely and on time from the initial concept through occupancy.
