PANYNJ Expert Professional Storm Mitigation & Resiliency:
McKissack is part of the team providing Expert Professional Storm Mitigation and Resilience Insurance Adjustment, and Grant Management Services for Federally Funded Storm Resiliency Projects to the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey (PANYNJ). The PANYNJ has created a Storm Mitigation and Resilience Office (SMRO), which is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the PANYNJ recovery, mitigation and resiliency efforts from the effects of storms to PANYNJ facilities and assets. SMRO has specific responsibility for formulating and executing corporate policies and procedures to assure effective policy development, program and performance management in the coordination, financing, and completion of Super Storm Sandy recovery effort. SMRO works collaboratively with the Office of Emergency Management, Engineering, Management and Budget, Capital Planning, Procurement and the Line Departments to oversee the development and implementation of $2.5 billion effort over a three to six-year period. The office has assumed responsibility for the grant administration of FEMA Public Assistance and Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP 404 Program). In addition, SMRO provides oversight for the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Sandy Recovery Grants and FTA Resiliency Program. Tasks under this contract include Strategic Management and Advisory Services, FEMA Programmatic Management Support, and FEMA Compliance Management Support.

As part of our services, McKissack’s Disaster Recovery Specialist is responsible for educating the client on the FEMA program process, timelines and eligibility; reviewing projects worksheets damage descriptions and scope of work for the client and writing versions to include additional damages found by PANYNJ Engineering Department, additional material, contents, Force Account Labor/Equipment and contracts. We also work closely with PANYNJ to create 406 Hazardous Mitigation Proposals with an estimated cost from the PANYNJ Engineering Department and assist in writing time extensions for the projects as needed.
