Long Island and Upstate, New York
NY Rising CDBG-DR Home Inspections Phase I:
McKissack, as the lead partner in a Joint Venture, was awarded a contract by the Dormitory Authority State of New York (DASNY) and was subsequently selected to perform Community Development Block Grant/Disaster Recovery inspections of homes damaged during Hurricane Sandy. The requirement was to complete up to 5,000 home damage assessments and Estimated Cost of Repair (ECR)/Work Write-Ups. The Joint Venture was responsible for approximately one-third of inspections in Nassau County, Suffolk Counties and other counties in Upstate NY. This effort required the immediate mobilization of more than 250 damage assessors and support personnel to assist in assessing damage and providing estimates so that homeowners could receive funds to repair or replace their homes.
For the contract period of September – October 2013, we provided 1,233 damage assessments and prepared 2,466 Estimated Cost of Repairs and Allowable Activity reports. Also, as part of our services, McKissack supported and advised project team consultants on program procedures and requirements for CDBG/Section 3 and M/WBE compliance.
