Lehman College Leonard Lief Library Ventilation System and First Floor & Concourse Renovation:
McKissack provided construction management services to Dormitory Authority of the State of New York for City University of New York’s Lehman College Leonard Lief Library Ventilation System and First Floor & Concourse Renovation project. The scope of work included the design and construction of modifications needed to reduce energy consumption and to improve indoor air quality for the students, staff and visitors to the Library, which is heavily used and an essential part of the Lehman College campus. Since the existing suspended ceilings needed to be largely removed to complete the system improvements, the project replaced the suspended ceilings and lighting fixtures for the entire library.
The project required removal and replacement of AHU’s, return fans, heating and CW pumps, heat exchangers with new BMS tied into existing Campus BMS, and replacing the existing MCC with new while phasing out old equipment and tying in new equipment. Providing temporary outside AHU’s that ducted up to the roof and down through new roof opening to existing supply ducts during the replacement period. The HazMat scope included the removal of ACM pipe flanges and duct gaskets prior to demolition of the existing Equipment. The Library stayed open during construction.
